I’m excited to finally make this public. After so many years of contemplating this next phase, the time is finally right for me to take on this effort to represent YOU in the City of Sunnyvale.
It won’t be easy. My family is my number one priority and I maintain that it is only by their support that I have seen the success that I have in the community. But after years of advocating for Sunnyvale, open space, and a better quality of life I knew this was the next logical step.
I believe that even though my campaign is based on grass-roots support, that the people of Sunnyvale are ready to become much more engaged in City government. After all, it is City government that affects our daily lives more than anything else. I believe that I have been successful at informing the greater communities of this fine City through engagement and advocacy.
I can’t do this alone. This will take an effort of a “village” to make this a success. Sunnyvale has reached critical mass. This is a direct result of decisions Council has made to increase high-density development at the expense of your quality of life (more traffic and less open space).
I have fought against the Council to preserve more space, save parkland and allow the public to be aware of how to change it. With that, I have also emerged as a leader in my greater neighborhood. In addition, I have been identified as the point of contact when the Mayor (Glenn Hendricks) would like to communicate with the community. I also have partnered with Councilmember Russ Melton to help develop a plan to provide greater pedestrian safety as a part of Safe Routes to Schools before a tragedy occurs.
I’m proud to have the opportunity to finally be in a position to truly represent the City I live and have raised my family in. My personal life goal is to always make any place I enter better than it was than when I walked in the door. With your help, I look forward to making Sunnyvale even better than it could have ever imagined.
I look forward to partnering with you during this journey. Please feel free to reach out to me so we can chat about what you think. Sometimes the best ideas come about over a cup of coffee.
